but you know how to install Houdini 10 on Linux Ubuntu _x64…i had problems with server connections…

Well, AFAIK, there is an Ubuntu specific installation package at http://www.sidefx.com
I never had any problems using this on 64 bit Ubuntu.
You need to sudo the install from a console, and it will place itself under /opt
